I've been trying to backup Troy and half way into the Encode I get a Cyclic Redundancy Check or something along that nature...It's not the first time that has come up, and I have no idea how to get around it....is my disc messed up and it's not reading in the first place or is it some sort of copy protection...Please help me...Thanks

I did Troy with just DVD Shrink and CopyToDVD to burn probably a bad disc but try a different progam like DVD FAB.

If you're getting CRC errors, check the disk to see if it's clean, make sure there are no smudge marks or bad scratches on the read side. If the disk looks good, it possible you got a bad press and will need a new/newer copy of the disk and then try again, it's also possible that Shrink can't handle the copy protection on it.

If the disk looks a bit scratched up or if it's a copy protection issue, try ripping the video files to your HDD with DVDFab Decrypter, it's a little more tolerant of scratched DVDs and is updated to crack the newer copy protection on DVDs, it will usually get the job done. It's a whole movie ripper so you'll still need DVD shrink to reauthor and shrink the files down to fit on a single layer disk, Just use shrink to open the files created by DVDFab and proceed as usual.

I went and downloaded DVD Fab...Works great...I was able to get past the CRC with it and then like you said used shrink with Nero like normal. Thanks for the advice!!!
