while i admit i never used the RitekF1 before, i CAN say i HAVE used the Optodisc ones you have there and they SUCK~! :)

optodisc is NOT a good manufacturer, probably on the same level as CMC MAG if you want a "generalization" of the whole thing...or even worse...

but as i have said, i never tried the RitekF1 before so i don't know if they are "good" per say, but i can safely say that if the Riteks are even 1/2 decent, they'll be a LOT better than the optodiscs~

docTY~

edit: what is ur burner's model number and manufacturer? i have a feeling it's just your firmware that is not up to date...hence the probs. you have burning onto 16x rated discs~ :)

I got a Memorex (Ritek F-1) 16x 50 pack last Christmas. Burned them all at 8x with my Plextor 716-A (1.09 firmware) & didn't have a single coaster.

While I'll never buy Memorex madia Ritek F-1 seems to be ok in my book...

Just watch out on those Memorex discs. I've seen spindles with media from different manufacturers - CMC Mag. With Memorex you never know what you are going to get.
