PLEASE HELP W/ RITEK G03

I recently bought a pack of ritek g03 ( I beleive.. thats what it said on the pcclub.com website) but for some reason my Sony Dru-500a drive doesn't recognize it when I put it in, but Memorex dvd-r's work fine. I wouldn't be so upset but I've seen so many posts that say g03 work fine on their Dru-500a's?? I've tried a bunch of different firmware's ( right now I have the new 2.0f) and I've tried it in WinXp and Win98 still won't register on my drive. Anybody have any Idea's? I would be so grateful.
