If I am using the Pioneer DVR-R/RW (reader-writer) which only works with/on DVD-R and DVD-RW media, and also using DVD2ONE along with DVDDecrypter and RecordNowMax, don't I have have everything I need to make backups of my dvds or make copies from my copies. Do I also need this IFOEDIT thing or VOB whatever thing too? HELP!!!!!! I thought I had everything I needed to start burning.

Thanks Reload
I guesss I did sound rather desperate (I was)
lol
It's just hearing all these people using all these other programs which I know it's going to be damn near impossible to burn a dvd as it is anyway for someone like me (even though I have been reading very thoroughly all these threads). Like some people say you have to add the last 2 files for it to complete the burn and close or something like that (my memory isn't too good). I am correct though in that you have to let it rip all the files on the dvd to your hard drive first, then after that you start removing the unnecessary files. Others seem to have been saying it;s the first 1 or 2 files you have to keep. And still others have said "get rid of ALL the IFO and BUP files" So this is going to be one hell of an experience trying to do.

btw, Smegma, or more commonly smeg (smg!) is an unpleasant cheesy substance found in unwashed genitalia.

Just thought you would like to know that.

people use Ifoedit etc to trim the DVD of the stuff they don't want to keep cos DVD2One does not have a title removal feature like InstantCopy or DVD95copy

more stuff removed means more quality for the stuff you keep :)

Ifoedit stripping guides are here

Thanks Mack for that link and explaining why i would need it. But when you say Title, surely the title couldnt take up more than a say a minute could it. Where is the Title (you are talking about) in relation to the actual start/beginning of the movie?
Thanks

A DVD contains Titlesets (VTS) which contains Titles (PGC) which in turn contain VOB ID's

have a look here to see how a DVD is built up

http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/backup/structure/structure.htm

Ifoedit gives you the ability to strip stuff out at VOB ID level

this means you can get rid of logos, warnings, trailers and all the other crap but still maintain the DVD structure and have working menus

movie-only stuff can be done with DVDShrink easily as I have posted in the other thread just now
