HELP NEEDED!!!!! switch on my ps2 and iT shows DISABLED !!!!!!!!!!!

actually the console was running properly for ard 6 mths.
before i left it to rot for ard 3 months i dint touch it for this long cause i was busy with some other stuff.
then ytd when i switch on..it shows the msg "DISABLED"
but after a few resets i manage to run 1 game for ONCE.
but no such luck since that one time...i can get to the memory card page if i tab the "reset" button once.
and i get the disable msg if i hold the reset button meaning turning the power off/on

the chip shld be messiah pro 2

i'll be checking b this thread often..
any kind of help would be appriciatied...thankz !!~

If it's like my Matrix chip, holding in start button disables it, so possibly you've got a build up of grit, dust from the long time without using it, and the start button is being register as pressed constatnly.

Unlikely I know, it's worth a shot.

Try turning on the ps2 with the joypad out.

okay...i;m nt sure whether i've done this right

this is wad i did..

1)insert a disc
2)hold the start button
3)switch on while still holding the start button
4)the game runs
5)tried another game
6)still runs
7)try anoother game
8)disabled
9)repeat step 1 and 2 with no valid

arhhhh this is maddening

btw can i ask wad is joypad
i'm gueessing it is the place where u insert ur disc?
if i switch on the console with that ejected
i go to the memory card page.
insert a disc and it says i need to insert a ps2 disc or formar disc =/

Is that how the Messiah Pro chip is suppose to work?
Disabled ususally means that what you are doing is disabling the chip, then none of the games would load.

have you tried turning it on with a game already in?
Or just turning it one, sticking in a game and letting it load.
I have never heard anyone who holds the start button down when they turn on the PS2

this is really strange but turning it on with a game and controller not plugged really works.
