Hello,

I was just wondering wat would be the best case i could buy for my dvd's. Currently i have the verbatim trim dvd cases but it just seems they are too thin and the dvd gets smushed. Does anybody have experience with these cases?

Anyway i want to get the best cases for my dvd's that will help them last very long. Any suggestions?

Evidently you didn't read the other thread!
To start with, I'm not a kid. I'm 57 yrs. old (today, in fact). I and the others are not stealing cases from BB. We get the ones they throw away, from the dumpster. They are brand new cases! Getting them from there has saved me a lot of money. Plus, I've made money, from a find there.

So, if you're so proud, or rich, that you'd rather go spend money for the same thing we get for free, you knock yourself out! More power to you! Just don't accuse us of stealing!
I guess the sanitation department sends their trucks out everyday, to steal from everybody in the city or county...............

haha settle down jvc. ok im sorry i was wrong, you dont steal from blockbuster. Hey if alot of people recomended me those cases and said they were the best in the business at taking care of delicate burned dvd-r's then i would give it a try too.
i glanced at that thread an every page talked about the blockbuster thing. all i want to know is where i can get my hands on the most quality case for my ripped dvd's so they dont go to sh*t. That thread didnt provide me any detail on what are the best and not bst cases

Look dude.......they are the same cases that the movies are in when you buy a movie at a store (most are anyway). The original cases. You don't get any better than that. The crap you buy from stores, or online, isn't near the build quality of the originals. I've even damaged a couple of discs before, using bought cases, because the gripper thing in the middle, was so tight, I cracked the disc trying to get it out! The originals aren't like that.

I'll admit the originals are becoming less and less frequent, at BB. But if it's not an original case, it's one of BB's lock cases. They are even heavier duty cases, to keep people from breaking into them easily. You can't buy them anywhere that I know of.

So, you're not gonna get any cases, anywhere, that's better than what you'll get at BB. It's just that simple. Besides saving money, it's a lot of fun "dumpster diving". Sometimes they throw away good movies (undamaged) or ps2 games. You can sell them to local pawn shops, for cash. I did! I advised. If you don't want to take the advice, that's up to you! So, you do what you want to do...............

My two best hauls have been on Wednesday. Others have had their best on Saturday. I think someone had theirs on Friday. You'll just have to check and see when your local store(s) throw theirs out..........

BB managers may say something if they see you. They don't want you to have this stuff for free. But since it's in the trash, it's fair game. People are worried about identy theft, but no identy to get from BB.
Some like to go early, before the employees are there. You have to work the schedule out........
Good luck!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JVC!!!! Now, Mikej3131, I am a 49yr old grandmother. Minus the granny glasses and big dresses. I am taking the kid comment as a compliment. I use to buy my cases from Meritline, American Digital and even Ebay. They are ok if you don't know any better but nothing beats BB free ones. The quality is much better and free is free, right boys!! The diving is a scream (way too much fun)and when you get a big haul you can't wait to run to the forum and share the news with your other diving buddies. Unfortunately you've gotten this info a little too late. BB now uses the cases that the dvd's come in for their displays and the finds are few are far between. I will never stop looking thou. Good Luck and if you get a few hours go back to the other forum and read it in it's entirety. It is a blast.

JVC happy 57th !!- Mike - I would tell you something but Jvc & NailedNy have stolen my thunder and said it more eloquently Then I ever could ! AS to the verbarim slimline cases I used atleast a 150 or so of them before becomimg a convert to The DDDCRS = Dumpster Diving DVD Case Recovery Society ! And I found them excellent no they are not in the same class protection wise as a fullsize case but they will work fine if you A. Don't try to play lets see how many I can jam into one shelf! B. Treat the cases & Dvd's inside like they are worth money ( They are ) & C. use common sense !IIf you want to buy what you can get for free Fine & Enjoy ! But don;t knock other people who are having fun and getting theirs free ! Thanks a lot for the birthday wishes!
It was a good day. Been out of work for two months, with my bad back, so haven't had money to do much. My wifes present to me was a three hour trip (Sunday), to High Point, NC for an NC Get Together with other members of my main Home Theater forum. She knew how much I really wanted to go. She's a keeper! I got to meet some great people, face to face, and hear some great equipment, I've never heard before. I/we had a lot of fun.

[Quote]three hour trip
That sounds like I got on the SS Minnow, and went to Gilligan's Island!
Thanks again! :o)
