Hello. I've been searching for months about this problem and I have yet to find a solution. Many of the dvd movies I copy result in somewhat choppy or skippy playback when I put them in my Panasonic SC-HT900 5-disc changer. I use Mac the Ripper and Popcorn on my iMac G5 but continue to have these problems. It seems especially evident with dvds that are larger than 4 or 5 gigs. However, when I play them in other dvd players they look fine and I do not see any skips. This leads me to believe that it is NOT the software I am using but that it is a problem with my Panasonic SC-HT900 player? Has anyone else experienced this problem out there? If so, any solutions? Recommendations?

what brand of dvds are you using?
i did check the videohelp.com site.. and out of the whole list they have of media tested on there.. verbatim is the only good one. it was reported to work. sometimes dvd players can be very picky.

you may want to check what burner the imac has in it. my guess its a pioneer of some kind. i know the k05 does booktype automatically. if you do find that the burner does.. you may want to check get some DVD+R and try that.. would make your dvds more universal.. ergo.. play on everything..

Hi, I've had similar playing problems with my older model sony dvd player when I used MTR 2.66 and compressed with popcorn and burned through toast. The sony player would jump and freeze even during the menus but when I played the titles on my newer sony dvd player/recorder or my apex dvd player the title played fine. I still liked using my older sony player so I tested a sample version of DVD2OneX compression software. The copies compressed through DVD2OneX played perfectly on the old sony and even looked better. Needless to say I bought DVD2OneX a week later. Popcorn could be the cause of your problem. Try a single layer movie that doesn't need compression and see if your panasonic plays that ok and also download a free trial version of DVD2OneX to see how your panasonic handles those copies. Hope this helps.

dvd2onex is indeed the cure!....popcorn and toast will cause those problems in compression, no matter what brand of disc you use.......
