i am having problems, and i was hoping someone who has done this before, could walk me though the process step by step, to see if i am doing something wrong, or if it is the wrong media, or if something is just not working properly.
here is what i do:
1. I go to Nero Vision Express 2
2. Click on "Make a dvd" then choose "DVD-Video" as opposed to "DVD-video-(+VR) (is this right so far?)
3. Then it brings me to a screen that says "content". Here I use the "add video files" and find the clips that i want, and add them.
(by the way, i don't understand what "chapters" are, so if you could, please explain that to me too)
4. when i am done with that, I click on the "next" button
5. that brings me to "create menu". here, i can set my background, layout, button style, music to play, and I click on menu pics to find what part of the video i want it to show in the menu boxes etc. I think I understand all of this part. when finished, i click the "next" button.
6. then it brings me to the preview screen. Here i can preview everything. Then I click on "next"
7. That brings me to the "burn options" screen. Here is where i think i am having the problems. I am not sure which options/settings to choose.
I can't figure out how to change the burn speed. when i click on recording speed, it says max, but there are no other options from the drop down box, and it wouldnt let you type in anything either.
when i get to burn options, where it says video options at the bottom, for general it has NTSC, for "DVD-Video" it gives me the choices of 4:3, 16:9 or automatic. I dont know what these mean, so i don't know which to choose, automatic is selected. Then it says "Transcoding quality:
Quality setting- auto
Bit rate
Resolution- auto
encoding mode- high quality (2-pass VBR)
Audio format- Lpcm
when i click on disc info- it says, no disc inserted or drive not ready, please try again
D: AOPEN DUW 1608/ARR
It will go though a lot of the process, but then it spits my disc out and tells me to insert a disc.
It sounds like it is not reading my disc. would this be b/c of media or b/c something is wrong with burner or D: or what?
thanks for any help!
