i assume you mean Dave from Teammodders? they always test their stuff, so i am sure it works.
What did you do to install the ToxicOS?
Was it the version for that chip (V0.41)?
Did you burn the cue file you got from the download to a CD then run it and everything installed correctly, then reset the PS2 so it would take effect?
That chip has a lot of boot methods, but the default of normal is usually the most stable. If you did not know already you should be able to get to the settings by holding the square button when you turn on the PS2.
I would set it to boot from disc, and not to boot from ToxicOS as that is mainly for people with hard drives.
Try a few things and see if it works.
DVD Decrypter is pretty simple and hard to mess up.
1. put in original discs and do Mode->ISO->Read
Then after it's done do Mode->ISO->Write and browse for the MDS file it created (there will be an MDS & ISO) and burn it.

Ok, have you made any back ups that do work?
If not then tell me the EXACT steps you use to make your backup
from start to end. Either the Verbatim or TDK should work fine.
Burn the 8X DVD's at 4X, if that doesn't work then slow it down to 1X
I would also contact Dave about the problem for assistance.

im working with dave through e-mail. i have burned the bios cd and it loads fine. i have used nero 7 and dvd decriptor and followed the team modders step by step process. i even downloaded the dll file from nero and switched decriptor. iv burned at 4 and all the way down to 1. if i burn cd games the same way and they work. does that mean maybe there is a problem with the drive? also i went home a little while ago and reflashed the bios with out the os and one disc worked one time and stopped. when i load the os cd it goes to a black screen most of the time.
