i made a mpg file with TMPGEnc from a dvd rip
got a file 1.44gb hehe anyway when i try to open it with vurtualDub (to make a divX) i get this message

Mpeg import filter: pack synchronization error

sorry to ask again =) but is there anything i have missed or need to proceed or is it just bad luck

Does the file (.mpg) play correctly in Windows Media Player?

And don't _ever_ re-pack videos, the quality sucks. If you want DivX instead of VCD, pack DivX directly from the DVD rip.

yup the Mpg works just fine in media player

hmm ohh i thought i was supposed to make a mpg file and then make it into a divX hehe lol that just shows how newb i am =P
