Hi all,
I have managed to back up many movies and this is first time I have ever had a problem with a single movie and it's driving me crazy.
So far I've tried, DVDFab, AnyDVD, DVDdecryptor and DVD Shrink, without luck. Always fail at the same point on a single VOB file, VTS_07_01.VOB, which is the Main movie.
Even tried tried using PGCEdit and the plug in for PSL2 ARccOS encryption. Just get another error saying it's not ARccOS encrypted. Tried cleaning the disk, same thing, failure at the same spot.
Movie plays just fine in a DVD player.
Any suggestions?

Anydvd used with DVDshrink should of gotten the job done, if not, then I would suspect a bad Disk.
When using DVDFab decrypter, you should have AnyDVD disabled because they don't play well together.
Question:
Are you able to rip the files to your HDD using DVDFab decrypter?

Tried DVDFab without AnyDVD running, was the same result.
I was able to get all VOB's using several methods up until the Main Movie file (VTS_07_01.VOB). Then everything just failed at the 47% mark of this file.
I even tried DVDfab overnight, then cancelled in the AM. When I looked at the ripped VTS with a viewer, FBI warnings filled the remainder (53%)of the file.
First time I've ever encountered this. Going to try VOBBlanker tonight and see if this does anything when I select the DVD drive as the source.

If it is a new incription, look for AnyDVD to had an update out shortly. You can't hardly slip anything past Slysoft.

Even though the DVD plays well, you could still have a bad press or a bad spot on the disk (it appears to be based on what you've stated so far), if possible try and exchange it for another copy then try it again. Vobblanker won't help you unless the files are already on your HDD(that's why I asked above), and you shouldn't use it with anydvd running as well.
Make sure you have the latest version of anydvd running, and as stated by little155, if the encryption is new, then look for an update from slysoft.

Like johnl123 says, its likely a bad press of the DVD. I had no problems w/History of Violence using only DVD Shrink to DVD Decrypter to burn with AnyDVD running in background...

Thanks.
John123, I realized after I posted the comment about VobBlanker, what I said didn't make sense. Just too many programs flying around in my head right now.
Going to try Shrink with AnyDVD running again and see if this works. Otherswise, another press as you suggested might be the only option.
I've used DVDdecryter (several versions) for a few years, this is first problem I've ever encountered with a single disc. Had I/O errors, usually it's a dirty disc. Sometimes my other DVD reader works. This time I've exhausted everything.
thanks for your help.

I had no problems with latest AnyDVD and Nero Recode so I assume Shrink would work. Great film BTW.

I had no problems ripping this with DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 all by itself. Shrink then opened the files and compressed just fine, burned with Nero.

i did this movie with DVD Shrink only (Region 2), but DVDFab Decrypter is always worth a go if Shrink doesn't play ball

is it possible that from disc to disc is different. It was extremely easy for me to backup History of Violence using DVD Shrink Dvd Decrpyter with SmartRipper. It was no problem. Then I noticed some people having problems. Whats going on. Recently I was backing up some older discs and AnyDVD says the RCE is not found. Does that mean it wont burn at all?

RCE stands for region code enhancement, you're just being informed that the disk does not contain this type of protection. This will in no way effect your abitlity to backup and burn your copy.
