Media a third more expensive in UK than USA

Just been looking at the differance in the cost of media between the UK and USA .Unbranded TU 100 pack are £22 in usa and £33 in UK. Why do we have to pay more for the same thing in the UK, is it because of tax or do we always have to pay more?

Do you mean $22 in the USA?

I pay anywhere from 30 to 50 US dollars for good media (100 pack). I guess thats around anywhere from 16 to 30 UK pounds... Am I in the ballpark on that conversion?

I'd say its usually about the same, but in general isn't there a higher cost of living in the UK than pretty much anywhere in the world?

'fraid everything in the UK is more damn expensive than everywhere else. hence the common term 'ripoff Britain'. anyway, TY are fairly expensive here but £33 for 100 isn't too bad, could be worse!. http://www.svp.co.uk are one of the only places i know of that sell them..
