Finally after 3 months of agony with this program I revisited an old thread here:

- Thanks, and a very big thanks to Willo I finally got the suite intsalled.

As he quite rightly pointed out the problem here lies with NTFS disk compression. Quite simply you cannot install to a compressed folder. This is an extremely poor oversight on behalf of Nero to add to the dreadful technical support and other issues and it is simply not on to assume that everyone out here does not compress their drives.

Once again Check that Documents and Settings\Local_S\...\Temp\ folder is uncompressed if running an NTFS file system under WinXP by right clicking the Temp Folder folder.
Select Properties>General>Advanced and uncheck the compress option. Click Okay.

Then run the installer and it should work. (Remember if upgrading from Version 6 to run the clean tool first!)

Willo - a big thank you. You have succeeded where so many others have failed, above all Nero. They don't even appear to have mentioned this on their website. Hardly Surprising,

For the record I installed ver Nero-7.0.8.2_eng_no_yt.exe which I downloaded from their website. My Serial is for the Premium addition but to my disgust on opening SmartStart I discovered that this version does not include MovieMaker.There might still be every reason to revert back to Version 6!

I'm not sure what program you are referring to, "MovieMaker"...isn't that Windows MovieMaker?

I've got N6 on one computer and N7 on this one, I can't see much difference as far as what programs they both have.

Sorry, You're dead right. Been so many months trying to get this installed my brain has been fried! LoL. I meant Nero Vision and it is of course there!
