I recently bought Sims 2 for the PS2 and am trying to back it up to hdd. The only problem is it doesn't work properly. I run the game and it shows the first Sims 2 screen (it's really messed up looking). Then I see the game creators (EA, RenderWare etc...) and those looked normal. Then it comes to the screen saying press start (that screen is also messed up). So I press start then it says loading then the game just freezes. I've tryed setting all compatibility modes and it still won't work. I also tryed googling it for patches and I couldn't find anything. Please help!!!

When you say messed up what fo you mean? Like is the screen rolling? Do you have a chip installed? How are you booting from the HDD? What version is your PS2 and is it PAL or NTSC?

What I mean by messed up is some parts of the screen are missing and the colour looks almost like its inverted. Yeah I have a chip installed. It's the Magic V. I'm booting from the HDD with HD Advance 2.0 (I also have HD Loader 7c). My ps2 is a v10 and is NTSC. Hope this is enough info.

Sounds like your trying to boot a PAL game on your NTSC console.

It says NTSC U/C right on the front of the disc. And even if it was PAL it shouldn't just pause right in the middle of a loading screen. I've run 2 games that were PAL from the UK and they loaded perfectly fine of the HDD. Also when I load it off the disc it turns on the HDD for some reason. Do you think this is a new form of copyright protection. Tell me anything you know that could help.
