Does anyone know what the best media to use for backups on the PS2? I don't care about cost I just want the best disc for my games. I have noticed that my PS2 has a harder time reading the backed up disc oppose to the original. So I'm not saving my self time or money by not using my original PS2 disc and destroying the laser on my PS2. I'm using Verbatim DVD+R and Sony DVD-R and burning at 1x.

Those are both good brands! The only other brand I'd recommend to try would be Taiyo Yuden. You could also try the Verbatim -R.

Also, have you tried burning at a different speed. If your discs are 8X, try burning them at 4X to see if that helps out.

Ya the Verbatim disc work ok, but sony has a deffinte drop in proformance. I already burn the disc at 1x, is that not better then what you suggested or is there something I don't know about disc burning. I have heard something about this before. Can you give me more info.

well, i am not really making fun of you or anything but burning at 1x?? thats is almost unheard of in nowdays?? how long does it take you to burn a disc at 1x?? The verbatims you got should be good enough. If you really want to know more about burning PS2 games do a little search in this forun and there will be tons of info for you. Also, it definately wont break the bank.
