Does the PS2 mod chip need a BIOS to work, like the xbox chips?

Its a lot different then the Xbox, but it also depends on the chip. The chip will also need its own bios unlike the xbox chips that you can use just about any bios on (except for X3 of course). What chip did you have in mind?

The Duo2 already had its bios flashed. Also its not upgradable or able to me modified. All you have to do is install the chip.
