Hi, I have had my DVD recorder for a while now and currently have it set up to my main TV plus a TV in the bedroom. The 2nd TV is connected by splitting the aerial out beteen the recorder and the TVs. This allows us to watch in the bedroom the TV signal the decoder is putting out but not a recorded program or DVD.
What I want to do is connect the 2nd TV via the component out connection so that I can do this. However I am unsure if the decoder will output signal via the Video Out and Component out ports at the same time. The manual states that you shouldn't connect more than one type of video cord between your recorder and TV at the same time - and I can understand this, but what about connecting 2 different cords to 2 different TV's?
Has anyone done this or know if it is possible?

Not sure what connections or service you have

This may help ---??

I have a Satellite reciever, for one sernice. No component output, but has composite and RF outputs
The composite outputs go to a DVD recorder than a TV. All in the same room. The RF output goes to another room to a recorder, than another recorder, than a TV/PC Monitor.
The system works fine.

Im my service I can only watch or record what the reciever is tuned to
In an other service this may not be necessary.

Also in this case, going to another room with an RV cable requires just the one. Useing component or composite would require 4 or 5 Shieldrd ones
