I'm looking to scan my dvd discs with my scanner and I'm looking for a guide(tutorial) that gives me step by step instructions. Anyone know where I can find one or know how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Just a quick note - the dvd labels (stickers) screw up the playback on most DVD drives.

I quit using them and highly recommend not using them if you plan on playing the DVD at a later date. The stickers screw them up. Just do a search on this site for sticker issues.

Cheers

Nope - no stickers. I have a printer that prints directly to discs.

Out of curiosity............... why are you wanting to scan your dvds?
If it's for the disc label to print on your discs, the software that came with your printer, should do this for you. What printer are you using?

Hi JVC,

I'm scanning my discs because I'm backing them up to printable dvds. I have the Epson Stylus Photo R320 printer.

Thanks for the reply.

I think the software is the same I have for my R200......
With Epson Print CD software open, on the left side there's a red arrow, under it is "ABC", and under it is a "pic on a card" button. Click on the pic on a card, and the window that opens will have a button for "Twain". When you click on "Twain", whatever is on the bed of the scanner, will be "Previewed". If it looks good, click on "Scan". Scanned image will appear on the disc template, with blocks on the corner, and the center of each side, of the pic. You click on the blocks and drag the pic to fit the template.
Good luck!

Actually no it didn't. No matter how I dragged the little squares, it wouldn't line up properly. Besides when the disc is scanned, it's smaller than the actual disc template.

scan it in at around 300dpi,use a program that has templates
i use roxio which i think has about 20 cd templates.,which has templates for a cd,jewel case's..front and inside.
i have no problem fitting the cd pix on the cd template.

there are tons of programs that have those templates..

Yeah, it's gonna scan smaller than the template.......
That's why I said to click on the boxes, and drag the image until it fits the screen. You'll need to drag from each corner, probably, and play with it, to get it to line up. You want the outside line of the template, to show just inside the pic scanned in. The scanned image should overlap the template, just a hair, when it's adjusted right.

It's not going to automatically jump to fit the template, when you scan a label in. If you download a label, or custom make a label, and just drag it on top of template, and let it go, it'll automatically size itself to the template. But a lot of times, it doesn't fit perfect, that way. Scanning in and adjusting like I said, you can get it perfect.....
Good luck!
