Hey guys, I've read on here that some people use a spray on printed discs to protect them like Patricia Nimock's or Kylon. Is this really recommended or is it just overkill? I figured some of you Members and Senior Members and Addicts might have had some experience with and without the sprays and I was just trying to see what you all prefer and whether or not I should try it myself. Those of you who do recommend it, why? And what spray do you use? Thanks everyone!!

I use the Patricia Nimrock spray from WalMart. Yes I only spray outside with the garage door open and a mask on. Only takes a few seconds per disc. I've tested some that were 6 months old and they are still scoring in the 95-98 range. Longterm effects are still TBD. Of course I have some G05's that I didn't use the spray on that are now unplayable from around 12 months ago. So who really know's.

Spray cost less than $5, test it and see if you like it.

I have been Thinking about spraying the bottom of one that has been burned to. Waiting a few months and seeing the results. I might do that tomorrow?

Sorry I've kinda got this going in two different threads, I guess lets switch it over to this one since I started it and it goes with the subject, I kinda hijacked the other one and turned it into this question, ha.

Beltline, I might get some spray just to try it and see if I like it better, I have some discs I used while calibrating my printer that would be good test subjects. Is there a good method of spraying that you use? Like how far away do you hold it and how long do you spray each disc, etc.? Just so that I don't waste too many discs while I am getting it figured out. Also, is there only one kind of that spray or is there like glossy and matte? Thank you!

There is Glossy and Matte. I've only used the matte, but it sure brings out the colors. I don't use a lot of spray. I hold the can right around 10-12 inches away and just do a quick couple sprays. Wait about an hour and do a couple quick sprays the other direction. That's all you need and a can should last you around 200+ discs or so.

I want to STRONGLY URGE anyone who uses this spray to use it in a well ventilated area. I throw a mask on, go out in the garage with the garage door open, spray the disc, and go back inside.
