my ps2 is working fine when im starting to play but after like 2 hours its geting stuck.when i turn the ps2 off and wait to the next day it works fine but still the same story after 2 hours its geting stuck again, please help me
oh and what kind of dvd discs are the best for ps2?

sounds like overheating. if you can more describe what actually happens rather then it just 'gets stuck' then we might be able to help narrow it down to the console or the chip.

Taiyo Yuden are the best disks to use, this is posted at least a few gazillion times, being a newbie there you can save yourself allot of negative comments if you'll use the search button. we've got allot of folks on the board lately that just love to be a real ass about monotonous questions.

ok ihave a few games some of them work like for 2 hours but then they get stuck.but i have another game that works just fine even after 5 hours. if it is overheating what should i do?

well if one game works and one doesn't, it's pointing more towards your backups being the problem. it still could be the console overheating (the processor) if the games that lock up are more processor demanding type games that require constant horse power from the console and the game that doesn't lock up being one that loads to memory and requires little processor power to be played.

first thing I'd do is put a fan on it and keep it cool, then play the hell out of it for a few hours and see if it locks up again. what version console is it by the way? if it's a fatty check that the vents aren't clogged up with dust preventing air from passing through, and make sure the fan is working.

hello

some games read constantly off the disk,thus the disk is constantly spinning
some games load a chapter then stop
you need to find out whether this is the case,either way your ps2 is overheating.
its a common fault on slim ps2's that have been chipped.
if you have a slim ps2 that has been chipped,i hope for your sake you have the laser fix.
unfortunelty there is no way to escape this apart from using a small fan to keep the ps2 cool,as suggested above by KC36330
one more point,using cheap disks doesnt help either,if the laser is struggling to read the data,thats one sure way to burn it out

i tried to use a fan on the vents but nothing hapend,i am scared to open up the ps2 to clean it because i dont know if will be able to conect it up again
