yea im trying to unlock my xbox hd with configmagic so i can change my eeprom, but everytime i try and unlock it, it sais it has failed. How do i fix this??

I'm not sure why. do you have softmod or hardmod?

wait you have softmod, once you unlock the hdd, xbox will not boot again. you dont have a chance to swap eeprom.
