I just installed win98se on a system that I repaired for a person memory 94mb of ram Intel Celeron 560MHZ .DirectX Version 9.0b. I installed DVD shrink version 3.2.0.15.i have screen savers set to none. System standby set to never. Turn off hard disk set to never. But anyway my problem is when I copy a DVD to a file on my computer after about 15 minutes the screen goes black with a curser that blinks on top left corner of screen. But when I hit the mouse or key board it will not go back to desk top just black a screen. I look at the DVD rom drive the light is blinking when the light goes out I reset the computer and the DVD movie has backed up on my computer. But when I burn from the file on my computer to a DVD disk the problem does not happen. It goes normal. Only when I backup the disk to a file. I burnt 5 movies and no coasters. Please help.

I feel that there is too little ram for the job you are trying to do. Shrink is very cpu intensive, and so is window 98. The conflict of the two programs hogging the available ram is causing your problem. I would recommend a minimum of 512mb of ram with a gig preferred.
