hi, just join today.

My analogue directional key had drop out. the whole thing to be exact.
it can stil be place but and can stil be played, but it stil drop out rather easily. brought it to sony, they can do it for me, but they will also upgrape e firmware to v2.6!!! i din want to cos mine is with firmware 1.5 but it trick e system into thinking tat it is of firmware 2.0. so e person in sony also think that it is a v2.0 psp.

i hv 2 question
1. can anyone tell me where can i get it fixed and roughly how much? 2. if anyone will buy a v1.5 psp with e analogue directional key drop off?

e 2nd question might be rather toopid.. but hope u guys n gals here can help. tks alot.

well, not sure how much and stuff, cauz duno if its ROYALLY stuffed or just needs replacing. cauz i kno u can buy some analogue sticks from ebay to replace broken ones, but duno HOW broken itll fix.

people will buy the psp cauz of the mobo cauz its firmware v1.5 :P . so people will buy, but here aint the place to sell. SOMEHOW try to post it up so others know :S

If its the analog disc ur talkin about those pop off really easy no need to send to Sony for something that small or pay anyone to fix it. Go to Walmart or EB or where there is a public PSP for playing and take the analog disc from that... I did that when mine fell off and got lost. Or u could buy some. 5 bucks i think for the fat rubber ones that are like the analog on a PS2 controller. Comes in a 3 pack in different colors. Its comfy but fat...just like fat chicks. I dont know where u can buy stock analogs. Try searchin google.

But u said "analog directional key"??? so is that like the whole left side of ur PSP ??? cuz the analog and directional keys are seperate and cannot fall off together.

i got it fixed at playbox in tampines..
nice shop.. great people there..
will drop by there again if i need any more accesories for my psp..
do check it out sth!!

You should buy a replacement one on ebay, there analog sticks there are like the PS2 ones but much smaller so it is easier to move the stick :D

WHATS UP I,VE HAD MY PSP FOR ABOUT AS LONG AS THEY HAVE BEEN OUT AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS UNTIL TODAY. MY ON/OFF SWITH MYSTERIOUSLY VANISHED AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN TURN IT ON IS TO USE WHATEVER I CAN TO. CAN I CALL SONY AND GET A REPLACEMENT OR CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW I CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM.

Please try to refrain using all caps next time, and its against forum rules.
As for your problem, i would suggest going to a trusted 3rd party store that is familiar with psps to see if they can fix it.
If your psp is a 2.01 or higher just give it to sony.

Ive read from a couple shops that they can replace the on/off switch for a psp. If you live in UK or Aus i can give you links.
