Hello again people! I just wanted to ask, is it possible to extract a *.CAB file of a game? For example MOHAA Spearhead? When I try to do that with winzip I get an error like: Winzip cannot open F:\setup\Data2.cab because it's not the standard Microsoft CAB format (as defined in mid-1998). "The signature bytes" required by the Microsoft CAB specification are missing
I tried with WinACE and WinRAR as well. Same problem. Any idea?
I hope you can help. I've already searched many places... no usefull answer :o(

You need to install the game. It's part of the protection. Otherwise anyone could bypass protection checks during installation.

My problem is that I can't get through the setup successfully. You can follow the detailed description of the problem here:

I can't run setup, that's why I thought if it was possible to extract the files without going to the setup. I tried with i6comp tools through DOS, I succeded to extract some of the files. But I got a report which says:
"Exeption in decompression routine
Possibly new algos"
I just thought if I could get untill here... is it possible to move further?
Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry, Shoey has given most of the answers we can have for you. To succesfully backup Safedisc 2.8 you need to follow the correct procedures and, sometimes, use emulation, depending on the hardware you have got.
