Hello,

I am going to be backing up my old computers to DVD+Rs, so I can put them on a new comp.

My question is: What are the best/safest speeds to burn at.

I've heard no faster than 4X for movies, but what about programs, MP3s, Pictures, and the rest of the files?

I will be using a Plextor PX-708(8X) for burning.

Thanks in advance.

well the slower the safer, you should be ok with 8 speed for normal data. teh higher your burn speed then more chance of reading errors when you come to use the disc.

this help ?
