Need help importing avi in Premiere 2.0

I have some captures of tv shows in xvid format with mp3 sound in the avi container (take a wild guess where they came from ;) I want to edit one of them in premiere, but when I import the clip, premiere doesn't import the audio track. If I drag the clip to the timeline, I only get a video track not the audio.

How can I import both both the audio and video tracks of xvid clips?

go to adobe's website to see if it supports audio from XviD format. if it does, you probably just need to download the audio codec and install it.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
