Ok so I have an American PS2 Ver.7, and I was lookin at the diagram from DMS, and i just wanted to make sure that I've got this right.

Is T supposed to be soldered or Not?

On The diagram it says that T is for DVD-RW, on Ver.8s....
Dose that mean it only works on those modles, or dose it mean that it works for all Ver.7's and only those couple of V.8s.
I just dont wanna mess this up.

T is for DVD RW support. You may want to solder it on if your using DVD RWs on it.

I never solder on that wire due to the fact that ps2's hardly ever, if not never, are able to even read dvd-rw's. It's up to you.

@kc

By far you've got more installs under your belt than me. I'm creeping up on the triple digits. I don't do it as a business, just a hobby. But I've gotta say, my installs are good.... you know what I bet it's just the type of 'rw I've tried in the past. I had a couple of Imation's from back when dvd burners first came out. They're cmc crap. I never use rw's for anything and have never tried another brand. Alot of users here in the forum agree that rw's are bad to use in a ps2.

I haven't modded anything older than a 35001, and that was the first one I did. Right now I'm sticking mainly to v.7/8's. I've done a dozen or so slims (all 12's) and a bunch of 9/10's, but as long as I can get the 39001's I'll mod and sell them. Less work (no laser fix's).
