-Download dvd decrypter before starting
-Make sure you have at least 10 gigs of hard drive space
With DVD Shrink:
1.) Put the disc into the drive, and open shrink
2.) Click open disc in the top left hand corner and select the movie in the drive you just put it in.
3.) Shrink is now going to analyze it, shouldn't take any longer than 3 minutes.
4.) Ok, now it should be loaded and you should see a lot of boxes with check marks on the right side. Look under the long green bar. There should be the word VIDEO, and then under that, a %. This number should be pretty close to 100.
5.) Now you need to uncheck all the boxes that say any other language but english. Doing this gets rid of some things you don't need, which creates more space. (If the number is still low, make sure and read step 8!!)
6.) You're now ready to backup. Click the BACKUP button at the top of shrink.
7.) You'll get some options here. The first thing you want to do is under "SELECT BACKUP TARGET", click the drop down menu and select create ISO Image File and Burn with DVD Decrypter. This opens DVD Decrypter right when it's finished encoding.
8.) Don't close out the backup menu yet, select the quality settings tab. If the number was below 80%, you'll probably want to check both boxes. This will make your backup a lot better, but it will defintely take a lot longer. It's up to you. (My compression is usually 60-70% and I never use the enhancements. I really don't think it makes too much of a difference unless it's a very low number)
9.) Now you're ready to encode. Click OK, and the encoding will start. (Shouldn't take any longer than 45 minutes if you didn't check the quality enhacenments). Go pop in a movie or watch some TV.
With DVD Decrypter:
10.) Ok, so now decrypter should have opened by itself and you should have an ISO image file on your hard drive, probably about 4 gigs.
Almost Done!
11.) Close to the bottom there's a Write Speed option. Click the drop down menu, and select any number between 2 and 8. I've found that 4x is the best to use for me, but you're burner might support different numbers.
12.) Pop in a DVD+R, and click the button with the picture of the hard drive and the DVD. When it's done, you'll here a cool noise. Go put in the movie to make sure it works, and then you can delte the ISO file from your hard drive.
