@izzykrazy
Try reducing your target in shrink to 4360 or even 4300. Go to edit>preferences:
What media are you using? Burn speed?

There are three things that will typically cause this:
1)poor quality media
2)burning too fast
3)burning too close to the disk's outer edge
so, try...
1)Try using media considered to be good quality stuff, I personally use Sony's DVD+Rs (make sure it states on the package, made in Japan), you could also try verbatim or Toyo Yuden.
2) Slow down the write/burn speed to 4x (this is what's considered to be the sweet spot).
3)Have DVD shrink create smaller file sizes of 4300MB so as not to burn too close to the disk's outer edge. Run shrink and goto:edit-->preferences, in the preferences tab choose custom from the dropdown menu and enter a value of 4300.
Give these things a shot and I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.
EDIT: Hey Binkie, you got in ahead of me this time, shoot..lol.

What is the error message you are getting when it freezes? Please post, the entire message if it is multiple lines.
Thanks

Quote: dvd backups freeze in the last 10 minutes or so
As I read it:
The movie is skipping/freezing during playback twards it's end in a standalone player, the rip/transcode/burn process has already been performed. So unless izzykrazy has got a set top standalone player that spits out error message because of skipping/freezing during playback , I don't believe you going to see one.
The suggestions above should resolve the issue.

As johnl123 says bad media can cause this. I was given a pack of Imation and had several that just would not burn right. I then switched to Sony and Verbatim and have no more troubles since.
Also your not putting labels on them are you. That can cause them
to freeze up and skip sometimes. Good luck

Hey, thanks for the pointers J123.
I wasn't trying to step on your toes. Simply trying to find out what the "Error" message was at the end of the burn process.

"AS I READ IT", he is saying it freeze's in the last 10 minutes. Doesn't elaborate as to whether this is set top player or during his compilation. Guess it's all in "how you read it".Just trying to get more info. Thanks buddy!
And hey. Thanks for your keen wisdom.

No problem....to me it looks more like the problem is happening during playback, especially when they state that it's freezing twards the end, but I guess we'll know for sure when izzykrazy posts back.
Later, bud...

John, I've sent a PM to moderator to whack this dude. He's banging around with garbage.
