hello, newbie question:
i used anydvd/clonedvd to back up Terminator2 ultimate edition and the original is in 2.35:1 but the copy comes out as 16:9 and so is stretched vertically. Is there any way to keep the aspect ratio of the copy in its original format?

CloneDVD has not and cannot change the aspect ratio of the original when making your backup. Go into you DVD player's on-screen settings and change the "output to TV" mode setting. Fiddle with the settings till the movie displays correctly. Some TV's also have settings that control aspect ratio display. Or maybe you have accidentally clicked on the player's or TV's zoom feature ... set it back to "no-zoom"(100%).

There were several releases of this movie on DVD. What exact DVD release do you have? I own both (region 1) the T2 "The Ultimate Edition and the T2 "Extreme Edition"(2-disk set) originals. Both backups of those releases were made with CloneDVD2 and display at a perfect 2.35:1 Anamorphic on my 16:9 HDTV.

yup, my bad. It was the "zoom" on my DLP set, must have gotten changed. usually i'm smarter about this stuff but it was the first time i used the dvd backup software and assumed it was something the software had done. btw my version of CloneDVD is 2.8.5.1 but i also own intervideos dvdcopy v. 2.5B009.55C28 (bundled with asus mb). would anyone recommend one over the other.

stay away from intervideo. I had many issues using it.

Had many problems w/ menus & itr also burns at max. speed. That's more cause for errors.

I suggest stick w/ Clone DVD, also I think you might need to update your version ?
