you will have to mod your PS2 to play back ups.
There are several options you can research
1. Swap Magic and an aftermarket fliptop
2. Swap Magic and a tool which goes by many names like slimtool, Magic Switch, Ghost Switch and i am sure others
3. get a good modchip (DMS4 Pro or Matrix Infinity) installed along with a laser fix.

once you do that then you can move on to asking about how to make back up copies.
