I know there are a ton of threads o this one already and I have read most of them. I apologize for adding yet another one. There have been so many suggestions I?m just downright confused. (This does not take much btw)
Here is what I have:
Verbatim DVD +R DL blanks
AnyDVD
DVD Decrypter
DVD Shrink
Nero 6
DVD DL recorder
And Chicken Little.
What can I do to back this up? Easy steps?

If using Verbatim DVD+R DL media, then teflonmyk's method is by far the best way to go.
Note: You should change some of DVD decrypter's settings for it to work correctly with AnyDVD.To use DVDDecrypter with AnyDVD set I/O Model to SPTI or ElbyCDIO. Set CSS Cracking method to none. Disable checking for structure protection.

Rip the movie to your HDD with DVD Decrypter using ISO read mode, once it's done, burn the image to disk using ISO write mode and make sure you set the write speed to 2.4x.

are you using the latest version of AnyDVD? 5.9.4.1, that is what i am running and ran chicken little thru dvdshrink only! then burnt it!

Thanks for all the answers! Sesko, I'm using the latest AnyDVD, just d/l it yesterday. I really don't want another $2.00 Coaster. I'll give the AnyDVD and Decrypter a shot. Hopefully it will work!

Sesko.. There was someone that did that and it did not work. (using AnyDVD and Shrink) I believe they could not get past the menu screen. I'm cheap, so I don't want to waste the DL media. The regular DVD's are another thing.

If you want to get it done for free, try this:
Use DVD decrypter in file mode to rip all the video files to your hard drive.
Get vovblanker here:

On your HDD you should have a VIDEO_TS folder created by DVD decrypter, run vobblanker and....choose....
Input Video Manager (VIDEO_TS.IFO) selection:
Browse to the VIDEO_TS.IFO file in the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVD decrypter and choose it. Vobblanker will load the files and warn you that there are unsupported multiangles in VTS_03_*.VOB and will be skipped, just ok it.
VTS_03_*.VOB represents the main movie and should not be skipped, in the upper half of the window click on to highlight VTS_03_*.VOB and then click the "process" button on the right to change the action from skip to process.
With VTS_03_*.VOB highlighted, look at the bottom half of the window, you should see:
PGC#
01 Entry
02 Entry
03 Entry
The top entry (01 Entry) represents your movie, the other two need to be blanked.
Click on and highlight 02 Entry and click on the blank button on the right
Click on and highlight 03 Entry and click on the blank button on the right
Output Folder selection:
For output location just choose a folder to store the files vobblanker will create. I create a folder on my desktop and give it the name of the movie, I then create another folder within that one and name it VIDEO_TS (this is the folder you will direct vobblanker to store the files in).
example: c:\desktop\Chicken_Little\VIDEO_TS
Once all the selections have been made, press the big "PROCESS" button and wait unitl it's done.
When it's done open the new video files created by Vobblanker with DVD Shrink and proceed as you normally would to reauthor, shrink and burn using your app of choice.

this movie was verry easy shrink and dvd region+css free running in the backround , make sure that your software is up to date, don't burn to fast no faster thain 4x no multitasking, also what errors are you geting? also it is small enough to put on a single layered dvd,

Again, like I said before, the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter should be able to rip "Chicken Little" easily. Yes, I ripped it with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.3 and it's going smoothly. I'm not sure why some people are having issues ripping this movie. Perhaps, it's a bad original pressed -- try to exchange it for a different one and it will be fine.

LOL. just everyone beware; if the amount of Chicken Little threads nears anything close to the amount we had for blumming Madagascar it'll tip me over the edge :)
Plus I'd put anyone's money on being able to breeze thru the young Mr Little (whenever it's released over here) with just DVDFab Decrypter

DVDFAB Decrypter (our favorite free ripper) alone will take care of it easily, that's exactly (my primary ripping tool, the best FREE ripper ever) what I used to rip my backup for my two sons.
I actually enjoy it (Chicken Little) a little more than Madagascar. Once it's out over there, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with DVDFAB Decrypter as usual.

Did you try to play that burn? Just because you got it onto your HDD and then burned it, it does not mean is all good.DVD Decrypter will not decrypt the entire disc by himself. I tried that and I get an "out of memory error" with DVD Shrink, like it happens with the new titles. However, if you want to do movie only, the old DVD Decrypter work just fine.
For a full disc, DVDFab decrypter works with no problems like Alkohol stated.
Poor Creaky, the endless Chicken thread...!

johnl123, I tried to follow your step-by-step. When I highlight vob_3 in the upper box and then try to highlight either entry 1 or 2 in the bottow box, the "blank" button does not light up???
I am using VobBlanker 2100. I managed to get DVD Fab to rip it onto my hard drive. Tried with Shrink but failed - get the CRC error message.
Please help! This is the first time I have had a problem.

That's because VTS_03_.*VOB has been marked to be skipped by vobblanker, VTS_03_*.VOB should not be skipped since it represents the main movie.
So:
After the VIDEO_TS.IFO file has been loaded, look to the right of the window and find the button that states Proc.All and click on it, this will ensure that all the VTS_XX_*.VOBs are processed (make sure VTS's show process in the upper half). At this point you should be able to blank the entries (02, 03) shown in the lower half as described.
Do not blank entry 01

hey so far i have tried to do chicken little once already and recieved a very expensive coaster--bummer--so i am trying again using your very black-n-white (thanx) explaination but now i have a ? when i get to shrink i open the file and it still has the 3 angles when i reauthor do i trash those or do i do all three, or which one????? plz help im too cheap to lose another disk to this movie!!
ok, well i just picked one of the three angles and burned....but did not get great results.....ok, so everything is finally in english...but copy still digitizes at the same point it was on the previous attempt (where dad little goes and gives pep talk after baseballgame) can skip thru it and seems to be playing alright now...still playing so don't know if it'll be okay for the rest of the flick or not yet)...so i did read thru one of the many other thread to choose from and it seems maybe i can copy the copy or something...how do i do this?
well it does also seem that the rest of the copy has minor studders in it as well even though DVDSHRINK was at 100% compression - movie only....plz help....in any way possible...
ok this now will just be f.y.i for any readers..... so i took my backed-up copy (which was still choppy and digitizing) and put it back in my pc and ran DVDSHRINK like it was an original DVD "open disk" (didn't mess w/ compression/reauth at all since it was at 100% and less MB than allowed) then "backup" with blank media and burned like normal...so now not only do i have 2 coasters of Chicken Little but i do also have my backed-up copy for my trip i'm taking tomorrow (which is all in english and no skipping) all the while my orig stays home safe and sound---
so if u r having trouble this is what worked for me - hopefully u too!
