I recently ordered a flip top for my ps2 (model 5001, i believe its either a v10 or v11) I installed the flip top according to the instructions, however, my games no longer work. They can get up to the Playstation 2 logo and it will start making loud noises shortly after. I've tried loosening the screws on the bottom, but it didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

oh dang, that sucks, i hope its something fixable cuz it sounds like you messed up either the laser or somewhere around it, try opening it back up and seeing if something looks out of place or wrong around the laser area...

A little update,
I don't think its the laser, seeing as a small minority of my games actually do play while the ps2 screws are loose. Swap Magic seems to work fine whether the ps2 is tight or loose. However, a majority of the games still dont work. But I'll be putting on the original case on when i get home to determine if it is the laser or hardware thats causing the problems rather than the flip top case.

NO! Don't put the original top back on the only problem is that when you swap your discs you need to make sure that they go under a little latch at the back and not over, its really hard to explain but if you pull your PS2 out so you can open up the fliptop and leave it open just practise putting your discs in and you'll notice a little latch that gets in your way.

Like the poster above me said, you have to make sure the disc is all the way in the tray or you will get the grinding sound.(I had this problem at first to).
