- When I first had shrink it's was alot faster, now after I formatted my HDD I had to install the newest version. I find that the encoding starts off fast list 4500 Kb/s then by time it hit's 10% complete it has slowed down to like 1300 Kb/s (it's like 55 min). Is this a common problem? Why was it faster before? I have a Toshiba SD-R5372 and have never had a bad burn (I also only use Verbatim).

Use disk defragmentor and when your using shrink exit unneeded programs or processes. I don't know if that will help but just a suggestion.

- I don't think that's a problem all other programs running fine and I always shutdown running backgrounds when burning.

Do the disc defrag. Then scan for ad/spy/malware. Check DMA, link here:

What are your comp specs, settings, and what quality options do you have on. there's a chance that you will need to do a reinstall.

Since Glueeater was such a hog (by providing all the answers lol), yes, everything he said is what the potential problem is.

One question though, are you sure it's just Shrink and not every other program? It doesn't make any sense. Malware, DMA, etc. would affect everything, not just one program.
