I get a read error when I use Shrink on Derailed, Unrated Version

Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

Anyone have any ideas?

It usually means its a dirty scratched or smudged DVD. Try cleaning it or the other thing could be to make sure u have the most up to date AnyDVD Version, sometimes that could also cause the problem.

It's not too bad but there are scratches on it. Don't have AnyDVD, is that something I should have?

Yes its a vital part of the DVD Backup procedure.

Thanks, a good cleaning was the key. There was a small spot of gunk that must have caused the problem, when scrubbed off, ripped perfectly.

For future references, VOBB and Decryptor File mode would most likely get the job done.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
