Has anyone ever had a problem with the dvd The Others? I have tried every program I have and I keep getting a cyclic rebundancy check error. I don't know what that means. Anyone? Could it be a scratched dvd? Thanks
I have tried xcopy, shrink, clonedvd2, dvdfab, also with the AnyDVD and region and css free running for the appropriate programs. I do not usually have any problems, this is the first cyclic rebundancy check error i have had.

CSS is normal. There is no special encryption on The Others. It's a fairly older movie. It could be a dirty or scratched disc. It could also be a bad press. Try cleaning the disc and then try ripping it again.
Before you toss the movie or the PC lol, you never mentioned VOBB. Try it before you do anything rash.
I had a baddd disc just the other day, I tried file mode in Decryptor for like 20 minutes and Shrink never opened it. I then tried VOBB and it worked like a charm.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
yer, try all the replies, i re-copied The Others from my original a week or so ago using just DVD Shrink on it's lonesome (i nearly always do 'movie only')
Thanks for your replies guys, sorry took so long to get back here. It was actually a scratched dvd, so I couldn't get it, had a back up copy of wedding crashers yesterday and the same thing, it was all scratched up so I couldn't get it either. But thanks for all your help. oh ya, I have dvd xrescue, lotta good it does me when it gives me same error....lol. Unless I don't know how to use it properly.
