Do I need to keep any of the boxes labeled with the "AC3 2-ch" or can I just keep the audio files labeled 5.1.

I am trying to cut out as much as I can to get the compression to go up...

5.1 will automatically downgrade to ch2. But if you don't have 5.1 and are sure you will never in the future then just get the ch2, save yourself some compression.

You can preview the audio via the screen on the bottom left by right clicking.

5.1 is the better correct? So if I am backing these up and playing them through my home entertainment center which has nice audio then I should keep the 5.1 and dump the 2-ch? I would rather sacrifice a little in the compression to maintain some quality in the end product...as audio goes anyway.

Like it was already mentioned, just preview it. If I have a choice, obviously, I'd dump the 2-ch but if it's a commentary or something, and it's a person I'm interested in hearing (say a Tarantino or Scorsese), I'll keep it.

To avoid all the confusion, just preview it ;)

One more thing: It's better to have 5.1 and not use it than to not have it and need it (just like condoms lol).

heh...Good analogy...

I just always fear that I might delete some trailer or some stream that is actually needed to navigate throughout the DVD...I am not familiar with how they are produced hence the fear...

I mean I can preview through and see everything of course...but if I delete something like one of the warning frames or the green ratings page...is there anything included in those streams that like tell it to move to the next chapter or something...even in the chapters...does it just go to the next available or are there imbedded codes of sorts that says "play chapter 3 next" for instance...

Does that make sense? :)

And please...if I am repeating stuff that is in a general FAQ somewhere please direct me there so I don't waste time and bandwidth with repeated common discussion and question...though I am sure there are others thinking the same as myself...

All you need is the 5.1 English and that should be fine. Unless you're the few that owned an aftermarket "Home Theater System", then you can select the DTS and dump them 5.1 & others.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

Nah, it won't, especially if all you wanna do is remove the audio stream. This is why I started using VOBB to remove things altogether. With that you have to be more careful when removing things. But if all you're doing is removing audio in Shrink, you won't have any problems.

So get cracking and remove some audio!
