Don't know what is going on with the computer. Start burning a movie and the computer turns itself off in the middle of reading the disc. I have tried it with Decloner as well as with Shrink. Any body have any ideas on what I can do? Thanks

The only time it happened to me it was because of a broken fan, and the computer was overheting during burning/encoding. You can check that first, open the case and dust off the fans, make sure they are running, make sure all cables are well connected and the power supply is good.
Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!

Are you backing up main movie or entire disc?
If there is compression on your backup,do you use the quality enhancements of Deep analysis and the Adaptive error compensaion enhancement like Max smoothness/sharpness/sharp default/etc?
I had this issue on a brand new pc. I had to add extra fans. DVD Shrink will max out your processor during the analyzing and encoding. Shut down all background programs. This pc was a total pc of crappola.I even had 2 gbs of pc 2700 in it.
It started working better, but then would turn my pc off if I used those quality enhancements in DVD Shrink. Re-authoring and unticking those enhancements help out considerably.
I ended up re-formatting that pc,and replaced the cheap powersupply with a good antec 400 w ps. Issue solved. Now that pc burns sweet,no matter what compression or aec enhancements I use.
It can also be registry errors/virus related.Run a registry scanning program like registry mechanic to see how many errors it kicks out.It won't fix them till you buy it,but it'll give you a reference on how many errors.

Always full dvd. Was burning fine until now. Didn't change anything. Just started shuting down. Will check the fans and see if that could be the issue. Never had this problem with old computer. Just this new one.

I've got an old celeron p-3 with 8 gbs of hd/256 mbs rimm/and an extra 30 gb harddrive and it is one of the best performing pcs when it comes to using DVD Shrink and autoburn with Nero. The compression really slows her down.
My backup pc: Athlon barton 3000+/2 gbs pc 2700/and 280 gbs of hd wasn't right when I recieved it. Lots of black screens/blue screens/reboots.It never turned completely off, usually rebooted back to the bio screen. Adding fans/blowers helped. But then an Ice storm came around a couple months later and a brownout took care of my ps/2 gigs of ram/10/100 ethernet card/blew out one slot for the ram in mobo/just to list to my woes.
New mobo and powersupply didn't help.I'd add a 56k modem in and it'd blow out my ram and ps.Also slapped in round 40 pin/80 wire cable. I then purchased a new pc because the other one nickel and dimed me.A total of 3 powersupplies/3+ gbs of ram/mobo/56k modem.I even blew out a ps while running a pc pitstop scanning test find out what was wrong with my pc.
I did get her straightened out last fall with that new antec tru tech powersupply and reformatted that sucker. Now she burns sweet as pie. I attribute it to all the cheap powersupplies that my local pc repair shop carries.
Does it turn completely off? Or just reboots?

i'm glad i read saugmon's reply there. it's made me remember i have no surge protection on my laptop. luckily all my other equipment is covered by a huge expensive £100 surge protector but this laptop is new and i don't want it getting damaged (i use it as my main PC so it's on a lot of the time)

Power supply problems are not very common, but they do occur.
I buy my computers from an asian owned assembly shop and the only problem I found was that that they start off with a case that has an already built in power supply. Now, how good can a power supply be in a $45 case. After one power supply problem, I now tell them to upgrade the power supply before they begin. They just smile... :o)
It's so nice to get a new computer with ONLY windows loaded.

That backup pc took a brown out about 14 months ago-from an ice storm.Surge protector did not help.
I now have an uninteruptible backup power supply. I need to pick up another one. Now when I see snow/ice/or thunderstorms,I go running to get all my pcs disconnected from phone lines and outlets, LOL
