Hey guys,
I used DVD Fab, then DVD Shrink 3.2, and all was going well but at about 74% of completion on DVD Decrypter it quit burning and said there was an error.
Basically, it is not a huge loss. I liked Squid and the Whale but I don't have to have it burnt (just wanted my dad to see it basically). I just wonder what other movies are going to be like this and if there is a way to keep it from happening...
Oh yeah and it is not bad media. It is DVD+rs from best buy and I have used 2 spindles thus far without any problems.
thanks

What was the burn error DVD Decrypter gave you? Doubt the copy protection has anything to do with the burn failure.
You can always post you log - when it reports a burn failure just press 'L' for the log.
Is your firmware update on your drive? What burn speed?
Just for curiousity what's the brand of media?

If on the packaging for those DVD+Rs it states made in japan, then you've got good media.

Two other things you should do are:
1)Have shrink create smaller files sizes of 4300MB to keep from burning too close to the disk's outer edge. In shrink goto:edit--->preferences, in the preferences tab choose custom from the dropdown menu and enter a value of 4300.

2) Make sure you don't burn any faster than 4x, when decrypter pops up and is ready to burn your backup, set the write speed to 4x.

Use SHRINK, this program and it's decrypting ability is amazing (The major difference between it and Nero RECODE2). Alone or even more so when coupled with AnyDVD. It's my go to program ad it allowed me to complete a single copy back up of "The Squid and the whale". I've said that CLONEDVD2 has it's issues and for the most part it's not reliable be it compression issues (poor quality picture) or constant errors? Though I will use it and it is cable of working surprisingly on some tough titles that I have had trouble with. Again, Use that SHRINK 3.2 you will not regret it.:P
