this message is meant to the person responsible for this site but since i dont know how to reach him, i'll just post it in this forum.
i've noticed that you've used smartripper to rip every movie vob files to your hard disk.
*FLASHNEWS* it doesn't work in windows xp.
i dont know why, even with te latest version the speed of the ripping barely reaches 0.2x
i had a windows me and it worked fine but not anymore cause i needed the space.
i know thers a tons of softwar's and i did try dvd decrypter which was the only one that worked fine.
O.K. i used it to rip an episode of black adder3 but when i previewed it, it began from the last episode and back to the first or something i'm not sure.
could you please just do a section on episode ripping of software that DO work in winxp since all your tutorials use smartripper to rip them.and if this message didnt reach the guy, could ANYONE please help!

smart ripper does work in xp,as too does dvd decrypter and clad dvdxp,i mainly use dvd decrypter, but have used smart ripper a few times in xp without problem, which is the only operating system i've used since it was released.300 films later i would still use smart ripper in xp no problem, but just prefer dvd decrypter.do you get any error message when launching smart ripper?any aspi errors?

if you read carefully mr. beintot i mention afterwards that smartripper does work in xp but its too slow.for example, instead of ripping a movie that would take about three hours, it takes 24.ripping movies with the other software like dvd decrypter works fine but it doesnt work so good when ripping a 6 episode like blackadder.i hope the person whos responsible for this site gives a tutorial on ripping episodes *not movies* using a software other than smartripper

Nope it is not, it is for all Windows Versions, from 95 to XP, there is even a specific build for XP that was made by Adaptec.

I Doubt i'm a genius, just have a bit of experience. As for the How and Why, well, ASPI is the Communication Layer between Software and Hardware, more typicaly, your Windows to your Devices (some of them anyway) and for some unknown reason, Microsoft did not include an ASPI Layer in 2000 and XP, so by installing it, you are giving Windows a better access to your hardware, and that's why it's faster ;-)

Sefy? Im confused. I have win XP Home also. So do I want the 4.60 Build 1021 or this other one you just mentioned that seems to be specifically for xp? Up until I read this thread I thought the 4.60 was all I needed. But if I can use the 4.60 instead of the one specifically for xp, would that be better(as from your other posts, this 4.60 build1021 seemed like the one you favored above all the rest of them.
