hi, I just downloaded AMV hell 3 off of google video and in psp video format (mp4), i renamed it to M4V00001 and tried putting it under the correct folder in MP_ROOT and it does not work, why would this be? can anybody please help?

PSP version 2.5
AMV hell 3, 333 MB

when renamed to M4V00001.MP4 it comes as currupt data and when it is just M4V00001 it says it is not in the right format.

It could be encoded in AVC format, so create another folder in MP_ROOT called 100ANV01 and rename the file to MAQxxxxx.MP4 and put it in ur new folder.
If that doesnt work the file may not be compatiable and would ave to be converted (this can happen just because it says it works on PSP doesnt mean it can) So try the above first.
What was the file name before u renamed it just out of curiosity?

Alot of the video google vids are AVC
in MP_ROOT you have two folders if not make them
one is the
100MNV01 folder that is for your SP encoded mp4s
100ANV01 folder that is for AVC encoded mp4s

If your vid is SP then it will need to be named M4V100XX the X can be any number and then put it in the 100MNV folder

If your vid is AVC youll need to rename it MAQ100XX xx can be put in by you.

Also
When you convert, make sure the video is not higher than 784kbps bitrate or the PSP will not play it. To check right click the file and press properties
