Ok heres the problem I have. I make DVDs for my 5yr old son now and then..him not living with me n all...anyway!
I add a few cartoons that he likes which is a simple process, they al have the same framesize and A/R so not too difficult and I know how to fix them if one is a bit different from the reest. the resulting DVd with menus etc works greeat.
Recently I had the idea to add one or two of the many filmclip I have of my son, our pets etc, that have been taken with a small digital camera or a mobile phone video. I am not asking about anything related top the formats or quality of these as I can easily get them to be the same format and FPS as the cartoons. The problem I am STUMPED on is this:
The framesize for these small videoclips is usually very very small. Enlarging them to a more decent size for TV viewing is not an option as the quality would suffer badly. they have to be put on the DVd so that, on the screen, they are small movies. Not filling the screen!
I even tried (Arrgghh!) Nero VE for it and it actually resized them to full screen which was just horrible.
I have an idea that i need to maybe put a large border around the small sized frame, so that the actual fnished movie framesize is the usual for DVD, like all the cartoons I am doing too. the idea is that the small film will be placed into a black border and so the film is in the middle. Then this will fool the dvd authoring programs, and the TV, into thinking it is the correct size. also the TV playback will still have the original small size with less deterioration in quality.
Can you help me in any way maybe by telling m,e what apps I can use to do this (If I am on the right lines that is!?) and could you tell me HOW to do it?
Much appreciated, thanks.
