Im going to buy an 80gig hd for my ps2. What do yall think is the best brand and model?

also can the heat from the drive be destroy anything? i usually play for long hours.

Here's a list of harddrives hat have been tested with the PS2 and the results. http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/ I've never heard of a HDD damaging a PS2 in any way, myself.

I agree with TheReturn... I used to not be a fan of Maxtor HDDs, but the quality in the past few years has really gone up. I like Hitachi HDDs too.

Stay away from all Western Digital HDDs... the space between the ide cable and the molex connector(power) are too far apart for any network adapter to fit. I modified a network adapter for a customer sometime back... It's do-able, but you better have a dremel and know what you're doing.
