hi everyone i got one of these dvd recorders 6mths ago from walmart - worked well and i even managed to run the mr wizard hack and remove the macrovision/region free/3hr recording option etc. - but it bust recently and i took it back for a new one.
I run the hack again and this time everything is hacked apart from the macrovision - can anyone help me with this please i have a ton of vhs i need to burn to dvd before i move - thanks!

AS said, the new units can not be hacked
The firmware is different
However some users have reported success in going back to a previous firmware that can be hacked. Check the Forums
You could always use a MV removal accessory unit
[I don't put much stock in them]

You need to install older firmware ... 0098 or older ... one possible problem with that is your machine may have trouble recognizing newer media ...
Note: I was given an older LVW5005 that would no longer record or load discs ... I'm gonna put a SOHW 1693S drive into it ... I'll let you know how it turns out

Here is the newest firmware that is hackable ... already hacked for macrovision removal and it also gives you 3hr record speed

hi before i do that is there a way i should remove the old upgrade that i tried - remember i got the dvd recorder - and used the mr wizard ILO hack this managed to make the system region free and added the 3hr option but didnt give me the macrovision
can i just use the same mr wizard program with that file that you have provided?

The Mr Wizard hack is included in that file ... you run that file and it will backdate your firmware and give you 3hr and no macro ...
