you need to upgrade to 2.0 then downgrade to 1.5

to upgarade to 2.0 http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/5
put that in your psp/game/update folder if there isnt one you create it. Run the update, make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X

To downgrade from 2.0 here is what you do.
You are going to need this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/3
and this file
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4
1. Take the h.dat and the index file and put them in your root folder(next to psp and umdemulator)
2. Take overflow.tiff and put it in your PSP/Photo Menu.
3. Make a new folder in your PSP/GAME CALLED UPDATE. Put the 1.5 upgrade in there.
4. Go to your photo menu, and press down. You should see a black screen with white letters. If not turn your psp off and try again. do not downgrade til you see the black screen with the white letters, this is a very important step
5.After you see the black screen with the white letters wait 30 seconds turn you psp off and turn it on again, Go to the game menu through your PSP and click the 1.5 update. make sure your psp is plugged into the charger. Do not remove the charger at anytime, Do not remove the battery, Don't do anything but press X to start the downgrade
Your psp is going to get to 99% and say that the update failed. This is perfectly normal. Wait 30 seconds after this happened and turn your psp off.
6. Turn your psp back on its going to say an error happened. This is normal as well. Just rebuild your psp like it instructs you to do.
7. You now have a 1.5 psp

go here
http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/10
and get
MPHdowngrader
1.5 eboot
and 2.0 eboot for your region eg if your psp is US then get US

First youll need to upgrade to 2.0 ( 2.0 is the only firmware that can downgrade)
Make an UPDATE folder in PSP/GAME/
extract the 2.0 eboot you downloaded with WinRar
u should now have EBOOT.PBP copy that to the UPDATE folder you made

Now go to your games and run the 2.0 system update

After its 2.0
extract MPHDowngrader and inside youll see overflow.tif
Copy overflow.tif to your PSP/PHOTO/ folder
put h.bin & index.dat in root of your memory stick ( ie just straight into the stic dont put it in folders)

go to Photo Menu if the downgrade hasnt started go to overflow.tif and start it.
Youll see some white letters means it worked, wait 30 seconds
Then you can force your psp to power off by holding the power switch up for about 15 seconds

Once you turn it back on youll need to install the 1.5 ebbot same method as the 2.0 one above.
Once you run it, you will get an error at 99% dont worry just force your psp off again
When you restart it will come up with a blue screen dont worry you can press O and it will continue read it if you like.
You now have the delicious 1.5

LOL damn you fast typers

Now that your on 1.5 you cant run umds that require the system to update to 2.0
well maybe with UMDrun
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/356
If not youll have to dump the umd
into a backup iso and it will run off your memory stick on your 1.5

Okay i got a question with umd run.

If i put umd run in my memory card and acces it to the psp what will happen. Will there be an icon and acces the program like an emulator or do you acces the program and the psp turns off and then restart so you can put the games.

Since I don't have enough money for big memory card my options are limited.

And has anyone used this program before? Since its experimental and putting a umd game that needs 2.0 or higher and i have a 1.50 I don't want to upgrade. My question is that with this program can I play 2.0 games on firmware 1.50.

And heres another question that I have .

Which is better to get a 2 gig memory card or the 4gig hard drive?
