A BUP file is a BackUP of an IFO.
Delete the BUP file, Copy the IFO and re-name it as a BUP file.
Should burn fine after that.

First we need to know what type of file it is. Is it an AVI, MPG, MOV or some other format?

You need a converter (such as WinAVI, ConvertXtoDVD or one of the many others). Run the WMA files through the converter then burn with Nero or some other software of your choice.

Thanks again Dolphin2. I have a folder with 2 files in it, 1 for each cd of the movie that I have downloaded. It does a good job on the first file (larger size), but it stays on the second file which is smaller in size and keep converting for ever. Any idea?

If you loaded the files into the program at the same time, it should convert and merge the two together.
If it doesn't, then you'll have to use another program to merge the two into one large file and then convert.
I don't know of any free programs that will merge the files. There is one that doesn't cost much and does a real good job. It's called Easy Video Joiner. http://www.doeasier.org/joiner/
It does have a 7 day trial period for you to check it out.
If you have Nero, that program will also merge and convert the two files.
Let me know of your progress.

Thanks Dolphin2, I had no luck with the Easy Video Joiner. The file format is windows media which the DivXtoDVD did not accept. I have Nero but it doesn't join. Very frustrating. The DivXtoDVD (free version) is so limited and somehow primitive. Perhaps something in my files that prevents it from being converted or burned onto dvd. I won't give up though.

Did you try Windows Movie Maker? Save it as a different format.
It is standard with XP.

I will try that. I guess I have to join them together before trying the windows.
