Hello,
I will be buying a PSP at some point and recognize that firmware 1.5 is what I want, and that if you have up to 2.0 you can still downgrade to it. What I was wondering is:
If I wait and end up buying a PSP with a firmware above 2.0 is it impossible for some kind of homebrew or whatever it is called to be released that would downgrade it? I realize that there is nothing right now for it, but is the new firmware so different that you never would be able to downgrade, or is it just a matter of time until it is cracked?

hm thats unfortunate. So how exactly do you upgrade your firmware? I'd like to avoid doing so when I get one and I'm just making sure its not some sort of automatic process that your PSP does with an online signal.

Theres a couple of ways

Network update
When your psp is connected onlin you go to networ update under settings menu and it will update
As you can see its not that easy to accidently do this

Memory stick update
Youll need to download a update and put it on your memory stick
and then run it
as you can see this wont happen on its own

UMD update
this is the one you should be wary off
If you go and purchase a umd and you put it in, it might say
"you need to update to play this umd" some ppl just keep pressing and oops cry cry cry"

Just read everything before you do it and if a disc comes up that needs you to update just take it out, if your unsure.
