How did you rip the VOB files? if you did it with DVD Decrypter then you should go to the IFO tab/settings and then find the option for SPLITTING and choose "none" that way you will only get 1.VOB and 1.ifo file.
DVD Decrypter along w/ pspvideo9 is my usual routine, but that's where this audio sync problem occured.
So if I rerip w/ DVDDecrypter can I then "encode" w/ VEMoDe? Do you think this will get rid of the problem?
I'm worried that the audio sync problem is already in (or present) the .VOB files I get from/through DVD Decrypter - why I'm trying alternative methods.
I've tried every program I can think of to create a single .VOB, but everytime I do and convert it it has the audio sync problem.
the .VOB has sync problems? i doubt it, to test it play it in powerdvd ive never heard of sync issues on a VOB file.
So are you getting only one VOB file?
If you try to ecndoe alot of vobs into a single mp4 there could be sync issues
Make sure you did what isaid before and find the no splitting option.
that way it will be 1 VOB to 1 mp4.
That is exactly how I was doing it... and it created one .VOB file like you said it should - that's how I've been doing all my conversions... DVD Decrypter->PSPVideo9->MPEG4 that I put onto my iPod or PSP. I've done it the way your telling me and I followed this guide... http://psp.turbosweet.com/_files/tutorials/dvd_to_psp/dvdpsp.htm
Unfortunatley that one .VOB file, after being converted into MPEG4, had audio sync issues.
So I replaced DVD Decrypter in my equation with numerous other programs... Clone2, Clone Mobile, DVDCopy4... some of these create single .VOB's and others created multiple... either way I can't get rid of the audio sync problem - it happens in all of them.
So I tried VEMoDe...
After a lengthy trial and error search I found the right .VOB file from the actual source DVD and "encoded" it w/ vemode...
Audio sync problem - gone.
Video quality - horrible! Lot's of pixelation, choppiness, blur, etc.
The default video bit rate was 768, I changed it to 1500 - hopefully this produces a better quality vid?
I also have a question about something on VEMoDe... in the advanced options area... at the bottom it says "encode by size" and scrolling over it says "higher values may produce better quality, but may not fit on your mobile device"... currently it is set at 1140 MB - is that optimal?
I have a 60G iPod and 2G Pro Duo card for my PSP, most of my movies average anywhere from .5 - 1.2 G and are pretty good quality - I want to replicate that... any ideas of what I should set the "encode by size" field to? Any range? Where would 1140MB fall into the quality range? Good, average, bad?
Any vid over 1gb should be alright quality
ive never used vemode
If you have a 2.0 psp or higher you could encode in AVC its much better quality but i dunno if Vemode has it.
