I just got an xbox, (mainly cause I heard there were alot of things you could do with it hacking wise.)

so off to gamestop I go to buy a referbished one(cause Im to cheap to buy anything new.)

the one I got is a v1.6, and from that I Found that I Cant flash the tsop. cause the bios isent there in the version 1.6(Im sure most of you know this.)

so now I have to buy a modchip. and I was woundering what is the best one, what are some features I should look for, and what do a few things mean, such as what does the onchip os do? What is flash size? and is 4 meg overkill?(such is on the smartxx v2, and what would I use a multi bios for?

if any of this information is wrong please let me know. Iv been here for a wile, and it seems like people are a lot more willing to help if you know what you want help with, Im trying really hard not to just come in and say " I want a tutorial that will tell me every thing exactly the way it should be with no glitches, bugs or anything else and I dont want to have to try to learn it, or anything else."

get the X3ce instead.

Buy a modchip questions for yourself:

- is it easy to install?
- is it easy to flash bios?
- is is easy to reflash bios?
- can I reset to manufacturing default in case I fuckup while flashing bios or whatever?
- is it easy to access to OS?

If the chip can answer your questions then it is good.

i have the X3CE and its great you can do anything with it i recomend that modchip

chips are great, i have a DuoX2 which pretty much does anything i have needed. I am sure it is not the best, but it is good enough to do everything i want.

But just so you know you can softmod it if you want instead of getting a chip.

If you have the money, then get a chip installed for sure, if not then softmod it for free.

oh, and i hope that you are not an Xbox Live person or modding it may get you banned.
