Okay, so I did a Matrix Infinity install on a version 7 or 8 ps2 (definitely version 8) , now all the guides for 7 and 8 installs specifically say version 7, so I need to know what I did wrong.

The system will not start up now and when turned on a high pitched sound i made. Could this be a fuse? If so which one/what should I look for. I reopened the ps2 and checked all my wiring and it looks good.

There is one difference in wiring - regarding the 3.3v and GROUND wires - that I have seen in three different diagrams:

THIS ONE HAS NO 3.3v and GROUND wires attached

Now compare this following image with the one under it

notice where the 3.3v and GND wires are to be soldered on, now that I'm going thru this again I realize I did the wiring from the Mod-chip.com (last pic) for the 3.3v and gnd - It would probably be more wise to follow the infinity mod directions.

BUT ASIDE FROM THOSE TWO SOLDER POINTS, what else could make the ps2 unit make the high pitched sound.

XBOX v1.0 X2 80GB XBMC pwns j00 || XBOX v1.6 nDUREs Softmods 120GB + HD
Xbox360 Samsung ms25 Xtreme 3.0 + 111d
PS2 v7 scph39001 Matrix Infinity GD

forGET the swap magic and hdloader!!! if you want convenience and have it 100% working, get a modchip.

In both those images the 3.3V pots are in fact the same hehehe.

Does the PS2 boot at all? Do you get to the Sony browser? I would have a good look at the bios chip legs and look for bridges.

Good luck!

haha yeh i noticed they are the same, i didn't move the 3.3, good looking out tho ........
